Premiere European Cup in Portugal (Quarteira)

Long story short, my Premiere is not successful.

The race was from the beginning did not do well: to a small injury (sprain of the calf muscles) still had a cold. Nevertheless, I tried to stay fully motivated, but somehow I have been missing the power that I used to.

The extremely strong starting field occupied also made me nervous. This should be no excuse, I was just a bit overwhelmed with the whole situation.

The start was at 8:45 and we had

about 1.5 meter high waves. I knew I had to use this situation for me and had me well prepared for such conditions.

After the start I was super the first wave and was in the middle of the field, a great starting position. Almost half of the swim I could hold my position. On a 300 meters long straight I lost the connection and then just found myself again in the first transition area at the end of the field.

But the next group was not far away. Of course, I immediately tried to catch up, but no results: alone I had no chance, so I've been waiting for the group behind me. This had no motivation to reduce the gap to the front and therefore, the time delay in the cycling much larger.

The two training camp on Fuerteventura are now over and the base is now set to start in the competition season.

Now I am again glad to be back home in Austria. Although it is only for a short time, this I will use but to have to train intensely and gain motivation for Portugal.

I'm still on Fuerteventura and am preparing to Andreas on the Giglmayr first race before.

Last week was our coach Anton Kesselbacher our training there and we can once again work optimally in our technology.

I am looking forward but slowly back to home and a few laid-back day before heading to Portugal.

I fly at 02 April in Portugal and will in Quarteira at the first European Cup races this season in addition to many world class athletes on the start line. This race is a new situation for me, so I expect no miracles. Since I'm still in such races almost no experience, I can not judge myself well. My goal is to gain experience and to bring a super power.

In February, I was already here two weeks and worked on my base - which I consider good succeeded. In this training camp I've been training with my friend Sebastian Lachmayr. Since he always having fun is not neglected, the long loose exits are passed in a flash.

I would like to again thank the Sebastian for the great time and I'm looking forward again when we travel together in training camp.
