After a block with many races in June and some really good results, I stood on the first August in Calgary (Canada) in an Ironman 70.3 at the start. In preparation, I had to do many things differently than my first two races over this distance and therefore I was not sure whether flip it würde.Trotzdem I felt very fit and was highly motivated for the Wettkampf.Das race was similar to the built in St. Pölten: there were five wave start and I was in the fourth. This was a new experience for me, because after the swim I was all alone and had to overtake the slower athletes from the front surface and thus I never knew the whole race where and how fast I was. The first sixty kilometers on the bike were full of good, my legs were just not
tired, no matter how fast I drove well and I thought so that it could be a good race. But after about seventy miles, they were becoming tired and I :-) had to fight really strong wind in the second transition area to come. While running I was able to make the first mile real pressure, but then had to prove the speed on the bike to pay tribute.
The result was still good: I did a lot of lead first in my age group, the first amateur and 16 Total of more than 1000 start.
I flew with my girlfriend and not just because of the race to Canada, but also to her sister to visit and then a road trip across Western Canada to go through. We drove about 4500 kilometers through the National Parks of the Rocky Mountains and stopped at the end yet stopped a few days on Vancouver Iceland, to wind surfing to
and vacation.
